What this is
Halal or Not? reads ingredient lists and screening data against a published rulebook of the positions commonly held by the four Sunni schools and the main halal certifiers. It is information to help you decide. It is not a fatwa, and it is not investment advice.
Accuracy
Ingredient data comes from the pack text you provide or from crowd-sourced databases, and recipes change. A verdict is only as good as the list it reads. For anything that matters to you, check the pack, look for a recognised halal mark, or ask a scholar you trust.
Use of the API
You may use the site and API freely, including commercially, provided you keep the disclaimer with any verdict you show and credit Open Food Facts or Open Beauty Facts for product data.
