Is rennet halal?
It depends on your school: rennet is halal in the Hanafi school, haram in the Maliki and Shafi'i schools and doubtful in the Hanbali school. Rennet sets cheese.

Rennet sets cheese. When it comes from a calf that was not Islamically slaughtered, the schools split. Microbial and vegetarian rennet are halal.
