Is a current account at an ordinary bank halal?
Halal. Holding money in an ordinary current account for safekeeping and payments is widely permitted, as long as you do not take interest or go into an interest-charging overdraft.

- If the account pays interest, give that interest away to charity.
- An arranged overdraft that charges interest is not permissible.
