Is yoga halal?

It depends. Yoga as stretching and exercise is widely permitted. Yoga that includes chanting, mantras or worship is not. Malaysia's National Fatwa Council ruled yoga haram for Muslims in 2008 because it combines exercise with Hindu worship and chanting; later statements allowed stretching without those elements.
